Session Data

Session 1: The Spontaneous Combustion Apparatus

• The party arrives at an inn hoping to meet a contact named Charlothian, but finds the inn burned down instead. They follow a lead from the innkeeper, and head south tracking the individual with the numenera responsible for the fire. They arrive at inThohal Manor. The people in the town -- and the party -- have mysterious third eyes on their foreheads, and the party is determined to figure out why. Ghost and Zenobia supply contradictory advise to a local merchant, adding to tensions.

Session 2: The Circlet of Endless Eyes

• The party discovers a circlet is being used by Lady inThohal to look through the third eyes. She is desperate to uncover a spy in her midst that has orchestrated assassination attempts against her. However, the circlet is driving her mad from prolonged use. Gholen, the nano advising her to continue using the device, is in fact the spy and the device itself has become a means to assassinate Lady inThohal. Gholen reveals and activates the Spontaneous Combustion Apparatus and escapes out a window. Some quick thinking by Ranija disarms the Spontaneous Combustion Apparatus. Meanwhile Laera blinds Gholen as he flees across the courtyard. This allows Ingrid to catch up to Gholen. She "firmly takes the situation in hand" and then strips the nano nude to relieve him of any concealed gadgetry. This earns her the nickname "The Vice Grip" with the manor guards.

Session 3: Do Not Pee On Ingrid

• Lady inThohal entrusts Gholen's cyphers and artifacts to the party. Laera tracks Gholen's associates to a nearby cave, but the party only talks with them before moving on, as they do not want to become embroiled in regional politics. They investigate the ruin where Gholen found the Circlet of Endless Eyes. Ghost phases through a door that had stymied previous explorers and rigs it to open from the other side. The party discovers the tilted and buried structure is only half-built, with inactive builder automatons on the lowest level. Suddenly a slicer beetle came crashing through a partially built wall. Ingrid slid underneath the great insectoid to slash at its belly, but only succeeded in getting a faceful of burning, stinky beetle urine. Ranija brought a pair of worker automatons to life and had them begin chipping away at the beetle with their cutting tools and drills. Finally, Ghost, thinking Ingrid was clear, tossed an explosive device under the slicer beetle. With a last second burst of speed, Ingrid thrust the live explosive into the unfortunate beetle's peehole, and then rolled clear. The beast was soon dead, and the party walked away with 5 cyphers, 1 artifact, and the location of a fully built structure.

Session 4: The Towers of Glorthblin

• The party comes across a field that grows sizzling hot bacon. Later they come to what appears to be an evil cult living in a series of floating towers. Things are what they seem, and soon the party is fighting for their lives.

Session 5: The Unspoken Affliction

• The party arrives in Oasis Town where the people are under attack from an unseen force that they will not explain. Finally, the local Aeon Priest named Father Murphy confides in them what is going on, with the exception of Ingrid. Armed with this knowledge, they experiment for a while. Eventually they head out to the "sand pyramids" where they discover a second ruin and begin exploring it. They have just endured a decontamination process when an ominous sound is heard far above in the massive central chamber.

Session 6: Seeds

• The party continues into the facility, where they complete the "giant ecosystem" by platning gargartuan sunflower-like plants that provide sculptable pollen and edible seeds to the town. The unseen force (a really big bee) and the infinite water reservoir are also part of the ecosystem.

Session 7: Dick City

• The party arrives in a phallus obsessed town they dub "Dick City." The town sees a ghostly ghost (and his ghostly disembodied dong) from time to time, and have formed a cult around these appearance. With Ghost there in the flesh, the town takes on a tribe of hostile abhumans which are easily dispacted thanks to a sonic cannon and the Spontaneous Combustion Apparatus.

Session 8: The Iron Wind

• The party fights off a group of incestuous abhumans before fleeing into a cave to escape the iron wind, only to plunge into a lake that inverts gravity for them.

Session 9: The Worm

• Still upside down and underground, the party discovers a lopsided symbiosis where a giant worm-spaceship is both providing for clueless humans while radically shortening their lifespans. The party strongly disagrees on the course of action. Some of the party works their way "down" to the planet's surface. They plunge through a floor in the City of Ladybugs, landing on the resident's ceiling.

Session 10: Finale

• Retreating back underground, the party pipes the gravity-affecting water into the shaft leading to the City of Ladybugs, allowing them to get right side up again. They meet up with Charlothian, who was brought here after his legs were badly burned in the fire at the inn. He tells them of a mysterious domed city that appears in the nearby hills. Ranija opts to stay behind to further study the Worm. With Charlothian guiding them towards the domed city, the remaining four heroes ride off into the sunset.
